We give you a once in a lifetime experience exploring Lovcen. Your driver-guide will be waitngfor you in front of a port of Kotor. You fisrt head off to see breath-taking panorama of Kotor,where you will have 10 minutes for taking pictures. After that, your driver-guide will take you toNjegusi, a village between Cetinje and Kotor where you will spend 40 minutes looking aroundthe house of dynasty Petrovic-Njegos, a place where Montenegrin ruler Petar II Petrovic Njegoswrote all his books. When you finish touring in Njegusi, you will go to National Park Lovcen,where is mausoleum of Montenegrin ruler and poet Petar II Petrovic Njegos. There are 461stairs to the top. You will have 1 hour free time in the park. When coming back to Kotor, your driver-guide will take you to second panoramic view, where you can see the whole bay. You then finish thetour at the starting point.
Njeguši is traditional village between Cetinje and Kotor, part of the territory of old Montenegro, place where are born rulers of Montenegro from Petrovic dynasty. During the Turks, through Njegusi is the only traffic from Cetinje to Kotor, Europe and the world. The most interesting part of our visit of Njeguši is 134 years old restaurant "Kod Pera na Bukovicu"where we enjoy local products as smoked ham, cheese and grape brandy. Family which is running restaurant will invite us to see smokehouse, and they will try to teach you all about the process of making smoked ham. Road on the way back from village Njegusi to Kotor is constructed in late 19 century, it’s made out of 25 serpentine. On the way down, from 1100 m to 0 m altitude, we take few photo breaks of stunning Boka bay view.National Park Lovcen is located in rocky region of Dinara Alps. Slopes of Mountain Lovcen steeply, rise from coastal region of Budva and west part of Cetinje. Park is bordered on South with highway Budva – Cetinje and on North with old Kotor road. “Black Mountain”, after which Montenegro got its name, rises to 1749 meters of altitude. Park is 6220 acres large. Office of the Park is at Cetinje. In this Park is mausoleum of Montenegrin ruler and poet Petar II Petrovic Njegos. That imposing building with 461 stairs that lead from parking lot to mausoleum itself. Its building started in 1951 and was open for public in 1974. All region of mountain Lovcen Montenegrins consider sacred. As verses from famous song say “Lovcen is our Holy altar”. Lovcen is symbol of Montenegro and gives it national identity.
