Just wanted to share my experience since I hadn't found clear information on this:
I traveled by bus from Odessa to Chisinau via Transnistria and, as expected, did not get a Moldovan entry stamp while exiting at the Bender border.
I wanted to register my immigration in Chisinau, due to a public holiday, the ministry however was closed.
I went straight to Chisinau airport and got my Moldova exit stamp without any problem. They just checked my Ukraine exit stamp and the Transnistria migration…
hi everyone, vsem privet !
I'll be in Moldova on May 9th and 10th. will it be easy and straight-forward to go to Tiraspol during one these two days ?
- is there a bus connecting the two cities ?
- do I have to fear bribes at the border ?
- will the border be open on May 9th and the following days (victory day) ?
I'm sorry if my post is a little redundant with others but I'd like perfectly up-to-date information on the situation and I'm taking extra care because I'm deeply interested in going…
Hi, will be travelling through Eastern Europe in three months. My itinerary is Kishinev - Tiraspol, via train, Tiraspol - Odessa, via mashrutka. Will any problems arise at border controls due to my method of transport? I have heard the PMR/Moldova border is strange and I don't know whether I will be given the necessary stamps/paperwork/registration when crossing. Is there a way I can complete my itinerary legally without changing mode of transport? I will be entering Moldova through train from…
I'll be in Tiraspol (Transnistra) in 2 weeks time; I would like to get there by bus from Chisinau, spending one night in the Trasnistra capital. I have been told that foreigners are not allowed any more to spend overnight since few months.
Does anyone who has been there recently can confirm it?
thanks for your help
My plan is to go two weeks to Romania and one week to Moldova for our summer holiday. I would therefore book a flight to Bukarest and leaving from Chisinau.
We have three very small children, so renting a car where all our bags and strollers fit in are essential.
I have contacted a few rental companies but they all say that it is not possible to rent a car in Bukarest and drop it off in Chisinau.
Does anyone know a rental company that allows this??
And if there are no rental companies…
It used to be the same price for ages, however Chisinau,Balti become more expensive than the average Ukraine towns like Chernivci,Lviv,Ivano Frankivsk. In Ukraine i pay by 150-200 grivinas for 1 bedroom flat per day.For £1 was 40 grivinas so £5 per flat in Ukraine except Kyiv and Odessa.
In Moldova even basic flats costs 15-20 euros/night.Cheapest will be 12 euros/night and Moldova is poorer than Ukraine.6-10 years ago it was equivalent prices.I have been in Transnistria several times and renting…
Do you get a Moldovan exit stamp when travelling by train from Chisinau to Odessa?
I've read a lot about the other direction from Odessa to Chisinau, but I wasn't able to find any information for this direction.
My preferred itinerary would be:
Arriving by bus from Romania in Chisinau on Wednesday (Entry Stamp Moldova),
then take the bus to Tiraspol on the next day.
On Friday I'd like to take the train to Odessa (Entry Stamp Ukraine) and
and take the train back on Sunday to Chisinau (Exit Stamp…
Does anyone know how to get to Soroca and back from Chisinau? I know that buses leave from Chisinau's north bus station but not when, I also need to know the return schedule.
I've found a few websites that claim to show the local bus schedule but they either don't work on my phone or show the wrong information.
Does anyone know if it would be possible to go to the monastery complex, see all of it, and get back to Chisinau all in one day? What's the bus schedule like?
I've also heard it may be worthwhile to hike to Trebujeni from there, could that be fit into a day trip as well? Thanks.
