The nectar that makes Moldova tick is celebrated on the first weekend in October to coincide with the end of the grape harvest. A long block of B-dul Ştefan cel Mare is taken over by stalls selling wine, food and crafts as folk bands fill the air with traditional music. Tourists are encouraged to learn the national dances and don traditional clothing.
There are also wine-making demonstrations, master classes and a crafts market. Smaller events take place throughout the country to celebrate 'national wine day'.
