Visit the Veracruz Aquarium, one of the most important and largest aquariums in Mexico and Latin America! Home to over 7 million liters of salt water, 7,500 square meters long, a variety of 250 species and more than 3,500 living organisms. Since its openning in 1992, the Veracruz Aquarium has been a reference for the national and international tourism, as well as a source of knowledge and an important environmental management unit, with reproduction, conservation, research and educational programs. The completion of the building's construction was finished by late 1992. The venue entertains visitors not only by exhibiting diverse aquatic and sub aquatic species, but it also presents an important source of knowledge and serves as a protector for marine life and wildlife of the area.Among the exhibits you'll have access to, you can see the Tuxtlas area, an environmental exhibit in a faithful reproduction of the jungle ecosystem of Los Tuxtlas region, located in southern Veracruz.Also, you'll see the Fresh Water hall, a cave-like decor where darkness gives way to the various tanks, where you will behold more than 30 species of fish native to the Amazon, Asia, Africa, and North America, as well as some reptiles and mammals representative of this region. You'll also have access to the Reef Tank, where specimens swim by through a tunnel and continue into the galleria.
