Uruapan’s oldest hotel opened in the 1940s to accommodate tourists flooding in to see the newborn Volcán Paricutín. Today it’s a wholly remodeled boutique place, with 17 spacious rooms on three floors surrounding an atrium bar. Rooms have luscious king beds, high ceilings and hand-carved wooden furniture.
Over the road is a newer annex with larger rooms that are very comfortable but lack the character of those in the main building. The rack rates shown here only apply in busy periods; count on discounts of up to 40% at other times.
Hotel Misolar Centro is just 30 metres from Uruapan’s Main Square and La Huatapera Museum. Breakfast is served in the hotel restaurant, which features a fireplace and stained glass window. The rooms are distributed around Hotel Misolar Centro’s 2 patios. All have private bathrooms including toiletries, a hairdryer and safety deposit box. Ironing facilities and a trouser press are also available. Drinks and snacks are served on the covered patio, where guests can relax in comfortable sofas and umbrellas. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the hotel. Parícutin Volcano is about 40 km from the Misolar Centro. Eduardo Ruiz National Park is just 1 km away and Uruapan Airport is about about a 10-minute drive from the hotel. Free on-site parking are available.
