Free wi-fi and a huge contiguous supermarket are bonuses of the modern OCC terminal. It’s northwest of the Plaza Cívica and houses all the 1st-class and deluxe buses and the 2nd-class Rápidos del Sur line.
More 2nd-class buses and combis depart from the Terminal de Transporte Tuxtla, with frequent destinations including San Cristóbal, Ocosingo and Ocozocoautla.
Combis to Chiapa de Corzo (M$14, 45 minutes) leave frequently from 1a Avenida Sur Oriente (between Calles 5a and 7a Oriente Sur) between 5am and 10:30pm.
To get to the zoo take a Ruta 60 ‘Zoológico’ colectivo (M$8, 20 minutes) from the corner of 1a Calle Oriente Sur and 7a Avenida Sur Oriente.
Tuxtla’s small and gleaming new Aeropuerto Ángel Albino Corzo is 35km southeast of the city center and 18km south of Chiapa de Corzo.
To San Cristóbal, combis depart from a storefront near Av Central Oriente; services 4am to 9pm.
Runs comfortable minibuses (called ‘sprinters’) to San Cristóbal; departures 5am to 10pm.
