Across the street from the main bus station, this bustling marisquería (seafood restaurant) serves amazingly fresh seafood – including shrimp empanadas, oyster cocktails, stuffed crab, molcajetes (ingredients cooked in a large, stone mortar), and eight kinds of soup, including a remarkable shrimp caldo (broth) – to a grateful local crowd. Despite its unlikely location in a provincial capital in the Hidalgo highlands, far from the nearest ocean, prices are surprisingly affordable.
