Started in 1953 by boxer Raúl Salazar, this establishment prepares Yucatecan fare just as it’s done in don Raúl’s hometown of Mérida. The sopa de lima (lime soup with chicken), papadzules (tacos stuffed with chopped hard-boiled egg and topped with pumpkin seed sauce) and cochinita pibil (pit-cooked pork) are top-notch. Tables are set with the obligatory four-alarm habanero salsa.
