Along with a wonderful destination B&B, JM Butterfly, Macheros offers a campsite (from M$300) with the usual facilities, as does the village of El Capulín, a couple of kilometers to the southeast. Remember that camping is forbidden in the reserve.
Macheros counts but one restaurant though there are a half-dozen stores selling food and drink as well. Tap water here is potable spring water coming straight off the mountain; you do not need to buy water.
