We're going to Mauritius for 2 weeks towards the end of November. I have to be in Port Louis for work and I have to book my accommodation through the office travel portal. I've just got the LP guide and it says 'apart from Le Caudan Waterfront it all shuts down at night'. We were thinking of staying for 2 nights in Port Louis and then staying in another couple of places for a holiday after that. We want to do this cheaply. Having recently come back from China where we lived on street food we are…
Hi Guys, so my fiance and I are planning our honeymoon to Mauritius. Have got the flight reserved and hotels reserved as well. But besides that there are a few things we want to know since we are staying there for 6 nights-
- how much should we estimate for travel around the island via taxis. I know the island is small but we still would need to get from place to place. For the 6 nights how much would you estimate we should carry for travel expenses
- For Dolphin swimming, how much would it be…
I was wondering if anyone has experience in renting houses/apartments for one month in Mauritius. I have limited budget and I would like to spend it on leisure activities rather than accomodation.
All I could find is offers for locals like these: www.astervender.mu/category/Real-Estate
Does anyone know local policy and if this is possible?
Thanks in advance for any help or tip!
I only have 3 full days in Mauritius from 9th of July and would like to seek you 2cents. I'm planning to stay 3 days in Tamarin Beach. I want to do a day dive and a tourist trip to Chamarel Waterfall, Trou aux Cerfs, and Seven Coloured Earth? Can you recommend a reputable place where I can book my diving and the day tour? Also is there any budget accommodation in Tamarin Beach that are clean and safe?
Any suggestions/comments are highly appreciated.
Where is it best to exchange either USD or Euros in Mauritius? I'm assuming there are currency exchange offices at the airport, but is any aware if the rates are better in the banks or currency exchange offices away from the airport?
I should visit Mauritius for 3 days in the coming weeks. I will stay in Flic-en-Flac.
I speak French and English, but I don't have driving licence. Thus, I wonder if some travelers could advise me a good travel agency for some nice excursions and activities.
I've already heard about www.vacancesmaurices.com , Raj adventures and fun-adventure.mu , but I don't hknow if they are good or not.
Thanks a lot,
We are planning on going to Mauritius for 1 month somewhere around september/october and we were looking for some tips on about which area where to stay. We were thinking on staying in one place only and really slow it down and enjoy our time off. Our kids will be almost 3 years old and 6 months old. What we would prefer is having all necessary services within walking distance as well as a beach.
We will be renting a car to explore the island, but mainly as day trips and not for the…
We leave for Mauritius on the 17th and will be there for a week. What are the 3 most memorable places/experiences you would recommend? We love to dive and have also booked a car for the entire week.
Look forward to you recommendations.
i’m looking for suggestions for which part of Mauritius to stay in.
It will be my first trip and I’ll have 5 nights there, just me. I’d like a bit of beach time, but not too much sitting in one place. Ideally, I’ll be able to rent a motorbike and explore the island a bit.
Reading around, I’m not sure where to stay. I want the convenience of restaurants within walking distance, a few shops, motorbike hire etc, but I’m keen to stay somewhere that doesn’t feel too much like an overbuilt…
