Enjoy a full-day Mauritian cooking experience with a local.
At approx 9.30am (depending on your hotel location) you will be picked up at your hotel in a private vehicle with an English/French-speaking driver. Drive (between 30 mins and 90 mins, depending on your hotel location) towards Port Louis, the capital city of Mauritius. The driver or guide will give you a shopping basket (that you will be able to keep as a souvenir) an envelope with some local currency, as well as a list of vegetables and spices printed in Creole language.You will be taken to the Port-Louis market to do your own vegetable and spice shopping. You are advised to bargain with the sellers for best possible items at best possible prices. At approx. 11.30 a.m., Your driver or guide will meet you in the market to take you back to your car to drive (approximately 30 minutes) to the Eureka Colonial House in Moka village. Upon arrival at Eureka, a welcome drink will be served. You will be met by the house's chef and taken to the kitchen to start with the cooking lesson. Learn how to cook some typically Mauritian dishes with the help of the Chef. You will be able to taste your own cooked food, and afterwards have a proper lunch served at Eureka.After lunch, visit of Eureka colonial house, converted into a Museum, known for its 100 doors and windows. That visit will take you back to the Mauritian colonial lifestyle in the past century. You can also buy some nice handicraft or arranged rum in the local shop. At approx. 3.30pm, you will drive back to your hotel
