Start with a visit of the famous Chamarel’s Seven Coloured Earths that are a geological formation. It is a relatively small area of sand dunes comprising sand of seven distinct colours. Afterwards, proceed to Ebony Forest for your hiking tour. Named for its abundant forest of ebony, Ebony Forest is located near the village of Chamarel, and is home to one of the most beautiful endemic forests remaining in Mauritius. The forest is an important refuge for the Paradise flycatcher and three endemic species of geckos. Guided hike to Flycatcher Raised walkway for a tour, then hike along ridgeline trail to Sublime Point for a juice per person (Citronelle or Tamarin) and 3 chilli bites (Mauritian delicacy). Option to hike to Piton Canot, before returning to Visitor Centre and access to museum and amenities. Hiking focus on seeing the flora, fauna, conservation work, Mauritian landscapes, culture (Le Morne and Chamarel). On the way back to your hotel, you cannot miss the panoramic photo stop at Macondé.
