Air

Express bus X4 connects Malta International Airport with Valletta (25 minutes; every 15 minutes). As for everywhere in Malta, buses cost €1.50/2 (winter/summer) for a ticket.

You can arrange for a direct transfer from the airport to most hotels in Malta using MaltaTransfer, which has a desk in the airport baggage reclaim hall.

You'll find a taxi information desk in the airport arrivals hall and you can organise and pay for your taxi there. The set fare from the airport to Valletta or Floriana is €20.

Boat

Valletta Ferry Services operates from Valletta Waterfront to the Three Cities and from Marsamxett Harbour to Sliema.

A dgħajsa (traditional rowing boat or water taxi; pronounced 'die-sa') can be hailed to cross from Valletta to the Three Cities. The cost is €2 per person, and for €8 the friendly boatmen will take you on a 30-minute cruise around Grand Harbour. Contact Malta Boat Tours.

The Valletta bus station has buses for all over the island. A two-hour ticket in winter/summer/at night costs €1.50/2/3. You can also buy a block of 12 tickets for €15 or a one-week Explorer pass for €21.
