Shui Xian Vegetarian

Chinese in Melaka City

In a city where vegetable dishes so often arrive strewn with shrimp or pork, vegetarians can breathe a sigh of relief here. With bamboo sprouting out front, this no-frills canteen whips up mock meat versions of char kway teow (broad noodles, clams and eggs fried in chilli and black bean sauce), laksa and even 'chicken' rice balls. The name means 'Water Immortal' vegetarian restaurant.
