Siniawan Night Market

Market in Kuching

Held along the heritage main street of Siniawan – a former mining town established in 1840 – this market is an excellent evening detour from Kuching. Weekends see the town's atmospheric row of 19th-century wooden shophouses transformed with street-food stalls illuminated by Chinese lanterns. A few locals like to get dressed up as cowboys and sing karaoke.

Visits to the night market are offered by Kuching travel agencies from around RM100 per person. By Grab it's around RM35. It's worth negotiating with your driver to wait for you, as transport back to Kuching can sometimes be difficult to secure.
