Kota Kinabalu's first post-WWII hotel is plush and charming with its pink marble lobby, Persian carpets, and baby grand piano. A colonial theme runs through to the rooms: Rungus bed-runners, dark-wood panelling and small but marble-heavy bathrooms. The soundproofing could be better, but if you're hankering for colonial character, this central hotel drips with it.
A tourist tax of MYR 10 per room per night is applied to all foreign guests. This tax is not included in the room rate and must be paid upon check-in. Guests with a valid Malaysian Identity Card or valid permanent residents MY PR Card are exempted.
