This memorable day hike takes you through 2km-long Deer Cave to a seemingly enchanted enclosed valley. There's a certain amount of walking on bat guano, scrambling over slippery rocks and wading through streams (rubber shoes are best; sandals are not suitable), but emerging into lush green forest surrounded by limestone is a fine reward.
A jungle trail leads up to a waterfall and rock pools that are perfect for swimming. Since the only way into – and out of – the garden of Eden is through Deer Cave, you'll need to retrace your steps through the cave to the bat observatory, where the walk ends in time to watch the bat exodus at dusk.
The price includes a packed lunch and afternoon tea.
