Rafflesia Loop Trail

Walking in Gunung Gading National Park

This 620m-long plank walk, which begins 50m down the slope from park HQ, goes through a stretch of forest that rafflesias find especially convivial. If the flower happens to be close to the trail, it's possible to go alone, but since most of the blooms are off the path, finding them requires a ranger or guide.

When the flowers are out, the local freelance (licensed) guide who usually takes groups is likely to already be at the park; if not, the office can give her a call.
