Welcome to Belum-Temenggor Rainforest
A mantle of primeval jungle covers Perak's northernmost tip. Bordering Thailand to its north and the Malaysian state of Kelantan to the east, Belum-Temenggor Rainforest has thrived for 130 million years. The area was partly flooded after Temenggor Dam was completed in 1972. Tree trunks still reach out from the watery depths – a ghostly sight to greet travellers, who arrive by boat.
