Talented home cooks and professional chefs share treasured family recipes as well as tips and tricks for producing the authentic, spice-laden cuisine of South East Asia. Classes are limited to 10 people per session over a 4 hour duration, allowing for a highly personalised approach at individual cooking stations. The Cooking School (the first of its kind in Penang) features Nyonya, Malay, Indian, Thai, and Asian Vegetarian cuisine. Open every day - morning and afternoon session available. All classes are conducted in English.
Programme9:00am – Live Guided Tour of the Spice Terraces with an experienced in-house nature/ garden guide9.45am – Complimentary tea at the Bamboo Garden (freshly brewed herbal tea)10am – Gift Shop10.15am – Cooking Class (inclusive of recipe sheets and apron) Menus taught are all fabulous Malaysian dishes and where possible, traditional utensils are used. Guests get a real sense of Malaysian culture through the stories of the ingredients, its health benefits, the various spice and herb blends and how its all brought together to create sensational flavours. 12.30 – 1pm – Class ends with lunch at the Pavilion* Times may vary due to the complexity of dishes and differing range of abilities of each guest
