This is the premier resort on The Great Reef. It’s not that any of the elements are unique, but each one is carried off to perfection. The bungalows, with enormous baths, are beautiful, the smiling uniformed staff members are always there when you need them and the food (set menu €20) is a work of art.
From the moment you step off the boat, to be greeted with a drink, you descend into an ambience of effortless, laid-back refinement where attention to detail is of the highest calibre. Neither commerce nor mechanics are to be seen, just stone walkways, a light surf, a serene half-moon bay and the sight of pirogues sailing past.
