Little Esch-sur-Sûre wraps around a knoll virtually surrounded by an emerald-green loop of the Sûre river. Topped by a ruined 10th-century castle tower, the scene is one of Luxembourg’s prettiest, though there's not a great deal to do in the village itself except simply stroll and and relax.

Just west of the village is the Parc Naturel de la Haute Sûre nature park, with more beautiful scenery as well as hiking and swimming on part of the Lac de la Haute Sûre, a 380-hectare artificial lake dammed in 1961, which supplies 70% of the nation's water.
