Air

Kaunas International Airport is situated 10km north of the city centre, served by direct flights to/from Dublin, Frankfurt, Liverpool, London, Milan, Paris, Stockholm, Turku and Tel Aviv. Ryanair (www.ryanair.com) handles the bulk of the airport’s traffic. Bus 29 (€1) runs to the centre of town; a taxi should cost less than €20.

Bus

The long-distance bus station handles intercity buses within Lithuania and buses further afield. Information is available from the timetable on the wall or from the helpful information desk (open 7am to 8pm) or you can check schedules on www.autobusubilietai.lt.

For domestic tickets, try the Eurolines subsidiary Kautra (www.kautra.lt). Buy tickets inside the main bus terminal or through www.autobusubilietai.lt.

Several companies offer international services, including Eurolines (www.eurolines.lt) and its Lux Express (www.luxexpress.lt) subsidiary. Buy tickets in the main hall. Ecolines, across the road, also sells tickets for international destinations.
