How much approximately would a taxi plus driver cost theses days for a daytrip or two? Mileage would be limited, obviously, given the size of the country... I would want to visit a few sites which are away from bus and minibus connections.
Thanks for any input!
Happy travels everyone!
I've been thinking to travel to Lebanon in the past few month, and now sounds it's an imminent feasible option! I am not British, but I usually check the UK travel advice before travelling as I found they are normally pretty real on facts:
I see they indicate various areas as risky, even though I read on Thorn Tree forum (plus talking to couple of friends who have been there recently) that travelling is pretty much safe unless visiting…
Hi, was planning a trip to Lebanon and wondering if the locals have an Okay level of English that a traveller who has a basic level of arabic could get by and around easily? could anyone please advise?
thanks..:) appreciated x
I'm wanting to travel to Beirut then Israel later this year. I know that you can't have evidence of past or future travel to Israel when your entering in Lebanon; or you'll be denied. I'm not worried about the past travel, but more the future travel. I know there are no direct flights from BEY to TEL. So I have multiple questions that probably tie together. As I enter Lebanon/BEY, is showing my flight out of the country suffice? How much will they ask about where I'm going after…
We're planning on hiking the Lebanon Mountain Trail for 3-4 days in early April, starting in Ouadi Qannoubine and finishing in either Tannourine el Faouqa or Aaquora. Hiring guides and reserving spots in guesthouses appears to be pretty straightforward, according to the LMT website (though we haven't actually done so yet). However, a couple of other questions:
- Getting from Beirut to the trail and back (at the beginning and end): Can we just take a taxi? How much would this cost? Is…
I'll be in Lebanon 5 days, arriving the 30th of March very early in the morning and leaving very late at night the 3rd of April, so 5 whole days. My idea is to use public transport for those attractions that are easy to arrive by bus, if not use group tours when this is not possible (Nakhal Sightseeing seems the only option for group tours) , and if not (or if I find somebody else to share costs) use a driver. So far I'd like:
1) 1 day Baalbek & Anjar. I've read that is better tour with a tour…
Me and my wife with our 1yo and 5 yo kids, drove 10 days around Lebanon passing to Saida, Tyro, Beaufurt Castle, Fatima Gate, Tripoli, Baalbek, Mzaar ski resort and Byblos. Timeframe was end Dec'17- beg Jan'18
If you are thinking about a trip there have a look to my report. You will find maps tips, pics and videos.
