Calling all UK-based parents and guardians – have your kids been out exploring over the summer?
We’ve teamed up with Eurocamp to ask your young explorers to tell us all about a new experience they’ve had while out adventuring over the school holidays. Whether they’ve journeyed far and wide or stayed closer to home, we want to hear about something new your youngsters have discovered this year. We will publish the best entries on our Lonely Planet Kids blog.
Apart from the kudos of having their work published online by Lonely Planet Kids, the winner will also receive an amazing seven-night family holiday with Eurocamp, and a bundle of Lonely Planet Kids books!
Ready to write? Get set, go!
Using between 100 and 200 words, tell us about something new you did over the summer! We’d also love you to illustrate your writing, using either a drawing or a photograph.
Here are some ideas to get you started:
- Were you near home or far away?
- Who did you go with?
- Were you inside or outside?
- What was the most exciting thing?
- Would you do it again?
- What did you learn?
HOW TO ENTER
Please ensure a parent or guardian emails the entry to email@example.com, including all of the following:
- Entrant’s name
- Entrant’s age
- Confirmation that the entrant is UK-based
- The typed-up story submitted within the body of the email: we love seeing handwritten pieces but as we want to show your work on our blog we need to receive your work in a digital format (thanks adults for helping with this if necessary!)
- The drawing or high-resolution photograph (a scan is fine, maximum three per entry)
Entries must be received by 11.59pm (BST) on 6th October 2017. The competition is open to UK-based entrants aged under 16.
With all entries, please include confirmation that you are happy for us to share your child’s entry on our Lonely Planet Kids blog and excerpts on our Twitter and Facebook pages. Without this confirmation your entry is not valid. Please note that we are not able to confirm receipt of your entry and we are unable to accept entries which do not meet the word count or submission requirements.
As well as having their work published on our Lonely Planet Kids blog, the winner will receive a seven-night holiday for two adults and up to four children (aged 17 and under) at a European parc of your choice in the 2018 Eurocamp brochure, subject to availability, plus a bundle of Lonely Planet Kids books worth £100.
Lonely Planet may choose to publish other notable entries.
