Tsavo West National Park in detail

Flights & getting there

There are six gates into Tsavo West, but the main access is just off the Nairobi–Mombasa road at Mtito Andei and Tsavo gates. Payment can be made at all gates.

Safarilink has daily flights between Nairobi’s Wilson Airport and Tsavo West, with airstrips near Finch Hatton's Camp and Kilaguni Serena Lodge. You’ll need to arrange with one of the lodges or a safari company for a vehicle to meet you at the airstrip.

Fuel is generally available at Kilaguni Serena Lodge and Severin Safari Camp, but fill up before entering the park.

The newly inaugurated Nairobi–Mombasa railway stops at Mtito Andei – most lodges and tented camps in the park offer transfers from the station.
