Welcome to Arabuko Sokoke Forest Reserve
Besides this marvellous creature, the forest is home to about 240 bird species, including the Amani sunbird, the Clarke's weaver and the Sokoke scops owl – Africa's smallest owl. More than 33 species of snakes slither through the undergrowth and shy waterbucks hide behind mahogany trees. The forest's other denizens include the elephant shrews' largest relative, the elephant, as well as the shy Aders' duiker (miniature antelope), Sykes' monkeys and yellow baboons.
An overnight stay (or very early arrival) greatly increases your chances of spotting wildlife.
