One of Ol Pejeta’s key pillars is its work and impact in the surrounding communities through education, agriculture and livestock enterprise. In addition, the conservancy extends services in health care, sustainable energy and community enterprise initiatives. By visiting some of our neighbouring communities, you can see first-hand how Ol Pejeta is helping to improve the lives and livelihoods of hundreds of people. During school term, visits to some of the community schools can also be arranged. The activity lasts for 2 hours and is available daily from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm. You will be transported to the communities in our tour vehicles with a driver also provided by Ol Pejeta.
From Ol Pejeta, our driver and tour guides will pick you up and take you to visit some of the communities that Ol Pejeta supports with revenue generated from wildlife conservation. We support over 60,000 people in 18 communities surrounding Ol Pejeta and you will see first hand how our conservation model benefits local communities. You will be given tours to see some of the energy agriculture and education projects that we have initiated with the support of the local communities. During school term, visits to some of the community schools can also be arranged. Revenues collected from the sales of this activity will be directly reinvested back in the community that you visit.
