Nur-Sultan has excellent air links to all major cities in Kazakhstan, as well as various major cities across Europe, Russia, Asia and Central Asia. Karaganda has regular flights to Almaty, Semey and Moscow.
Frequent intercity buses run from Nur-Sultan to Karaganda and Petropavlovsk. Lake Burabay and Korgalzhyn are served by minibuses and shared taxis.
Nur-Sultan is well-linked by train (including numerous high-speed trains) to most major cities in Kazakhstan. Trains are particularly frequent along the Nur-Sultan–Almaty line that passes through Karaganda. Petropavlovsk and Shchuchinsk (for Lake Burabay) are also easily reachable by train from the capital.
