Watching indies at Uplink feels a bit like hanging out in a friend's basement; with just 40 (comfy, mismatched) seats, it's officially Tokyo's smallest theatre. Artsy domestic and foreign films (subtitled in Japanese), including documentaries, are screened here. Uplink is also one of the few Tokyo cinemas that screens films with a political bent. On weekdays students pay just ¥1100.
Before or after enjoy tasty Mediterranean food at ground-floor restaurant Tabela; ticket-holders get a discount.
