On the northwestern side of the lake, Eniwa-dake (1320m) is a pointed mountain with a crater on its eastern side. Allow five to six hours for the rewarding return hike. At the time of research, the crater itself was roped off because of falling rock – check ahead at the Shikotsu-ko Visitor Centre.
