Day 1 Tokyo We highly recommend booking pre-accommodation to fully experience this metropolis. Included Activities: Arrival Day and Welcome Meeting
Day 2 Tokyo Experience the true art of sushi making and pre-book the Tokyo Sushi Insider Experience on the checkout page to include this optional activity on your tour or ask your GCO or travel agent for assistance. Included Activities: Orientation Walk
Day 3 Tokyo/Takayama Travel to picturesque Takayama and take in the quaint streets of the old town – lined with sake breweries and craft shops – on a CEO-led orientation walk. Enjoy the rest of the day to explore the area. In the evening, kick back and relax in a traditional inn – complete with tatami floors and Japanese futons. Day 4 Takayama/Kyoto Board a train to Japan's imperial capital. Arrive in Kyoto and spend the rest of the day discovering this historic city. In the evening, opt to pick up a local brew and chill out riverside or check out one of Kyoto's many bars. Transport: Bullet train (3.50-4.00 hours)
Day 5 Kyoto Want to feel like a real Samurai? Pre-book the Samurai Spirit Full Kembu Lesson on the checkout page to include this optional activity on your tour or ask your GCO or travel agent for assistance.
Day 6 Kyoto Explore this culturally-rich city with a free day. Opt to visit some of Kyoto's beautiful temples, participate in a tea ceremony, or take a calligraphy class.
Day 7 Kyoto/Hiroshima Travel to Hiroshima and opt to visit the Peace Park and Museum to learn more about the tragic history of this city. Transport: Bullet train (2.75 hour(s))
Day 8 Hiroshima Take a ferry to the sacred island of Miyajima to see the famous floating torii gate and meet the friendly local deer. Opt to go for an easy hike around Mt Misen, and be sure to sample some oysters – a regional specialty. Day 9 Hiroshima/Osaka Osaka has heaps to offer including Osaka Castle Park, Shinsaibashi shopping street, and the Dotombori Bridge. Osaka is a unique culinary destination – be sure to try "takoyaki" the city's famous squid snack or opt for a group meal of "kushikatsu." Transport: Bullet train (3.00 hour(s))
Day 10 Osaka Get out and explore the city. Opt to tour a ramen museum, visit the Osaka castle, or browse Umeda's many shops. Be sure to experience Osaka's buzzing nightlife on a final night out with the group.
Day 11 Osaka Depart at any time. We highly recommend booking post-accommodation to fully experience this vibrant city.
