Kaiseki in Southern Higashiyama

Take an old Kyoto house, make it comfortable for modern diners, serve excellent, reasonably priced kaiseki (Japanese haute cuisine) and you have Karyō’s recipe for success. The chef and servers are welcoming and an English menu makes ordering a snap. There are counter seats where you can watch the chef working and rooms with hori-kotatsu (sunken floors) for groups.
