As the name suggests, this intimate hostel is set in a restored machiya on an atmospheric street in the old geisha district of Kamishichiken near Kitano Tenman-gū. It offers five simple Japanese-style rooms and there is a lovely private bath plus a courtyard garden. Mingle with the friendly staff and other travellers in the small lobby bar.
Mosaic Machiya KSK is located in the renowned geisha district Kamishichiken, in Kyoto, a 1-minute stroll away from Kitano Tenmangu Shrine. Hirano Shrine, Kinkaku-ji Temple and Ryoan-ji Temple are all within walking distance. Kitano-Hakubaicho Station of the Randen Kitano Line is a 10-minute walk from the property. Kyoto City Bus buses stop at Kamishichiken bus stop, situated a 3-minute walk away. The on-site cafe & bar is open from 09:00 - 21:00. KSK Mosaic Machiya features traditional Japanese machiya (townhouse) style architecture, where guests can experience soaking in the Japanese goemon-style bath on site. Shower booths are also available. The ground floor and 2nd floor respectively offers 2 and 3 guestrooms. All rooms feature tatami (woven-straw) flooring and come with hand-mirrors, dryers and clothes hangers.
