While in Kyoto, enjoy this 2.5-hour cultural visit to an ochaya tea house, generally not open to the public. Appreciate the Japanese dance of maiko with your small group limited to 6 people. This activity includes a guide-interpreter, hotel pickup and drop-off by taxi, and a light snack.
Begin this tour with hotel pickup from Kyoto by taxi at about 8:30pm. Arrive at the ochaya by 9pm. Every night there is a private banquet for small groups who have been granted exclusive access to the ochaya teahouse that are not usually open to the general public. Inside, you will be served in an authentic Japanese-style. Be entertained by one or more geiko artists. You will be accompanied by a guide-interpreter during this 2-hour experience in the ochaya. The maiko artist will casually chat with you, serve you drinks, and even play easy games with you or show you some of her dancing abilities. You will be served top-quality sake. Your meal finishes at about 10:30pm and then you will return to your hotel in Kyoto by around 11pm.
