Kyoto is the previous capital of Japan for more than one thousand years and still preserves old traditional atmosphere of Japan. In the tour you can visit must -see places of Kyoto efficiently. Kiyomizu temple, famous for its platform of the main hall projecting over a cliff, Nijo castle which was the residence of the Tokugawa family when they visited Kyoto in the Edo period, and Fushimi Inari shrine with thousands of Torii gates are all World Heritages. 1.Kiyomizu temple including Sannenzaka and Ninenzaka is one of the most popular destinations in Kyoto. The kiyomizu stage over the cliff and Sannenzaka and Ninenzaka slopes with the old traditional atmosphere are worth visiting. 2.Yasaka shrine once called Gion shrine is a Shinto shrine in the Gion district. The shrine includes several buildings such as gates, a main hall and a stage with many beautiful paper lanterns. 3.Nishiki market is a popular marketplace in downtown Kyoto with rich history and tradition. Try various foods unique to Kyoto. 4.Nijo castle is a flatland castle built by Tokugawa Ieyasu, the first shogun of the Tokugawa shogunate. Its beautiful gardens and gorgeous paintings on the walls are magnificent. 5.Fushimi Inari shrine is located at the base of Inari Mountain including trails up the mountain to many smaller shrines. The shrine is famous for more than 5000 red torii gates donated by followers. 6.Gion district is famous for the preservation of forms of traditional architecture and entertainment of Geiko and Maiko.
