You will be picked up at either Umeda (8:30am) or Namba (9:00am). Upon arrival at your first stop around 10:20am is Arashiyama district located in the Western part of Kyoto. During the winter season the mountains and bamboo forest is covered with snow giving the surroundings a melancholic yet beautiful & peaceful atmosphere. One highly recommended spot is the Sagano Bamboo Forest. It is a pleasantly cool 100m long walkway that begins from the side of the world heritage Tenryuji Temple. Later, you will have lunch at a buffet of 60 assortment or so Kyoto cuisines. (If you choose 'without lunch' package, the tour conductor will recommend places to eat) After Lunch you will go to Miyama Milk Factory where you can buy and enjoy the popular Miyama Milk softcream. The last stop is Kayabuki-no-sato, a village located in Northern Kyoto surrounded by mountains. There are 35 traditional Japanese thatched roof houses and ancient tradition is very much alive in this recluse village. From Jan 28th~Feb 4th a snow latern festival is held here with the whole village lit up with snow lanterns. There will be many food and drink stalls out where you can enjoy the local food and snacks. After a full day of experiencing various parts of Kyoto, you will be dropped off at the Namba 'OCAT' (9:15pm) or Nishi-Umeda 'Hearton Hotel' (9:30pm).
