This is an affordable yet culturally-enriching bus trip from Osaka to Kyoto and Nara. The tour stops at Kyoto Arashiyama, scenic ride aboard the Randen tram to see local life and Nara park Todaiji temple with time for lunch. With several convenient pickup points near Kansai Airport, hotels in Umeda and Namba, this 9 hour tour will be a great addition to your trip to Japan.
You will be picked up at either Kansai Airport (7:30 am), the Hearton Hotel Nishi Umeda (8:30 am) or JR Namba OCAT station (9 am). Next you will make your way to the Arashiyama district, located in the Western part of Kyoto. Upon arrival you will have a full 3 hours to tour Arashiyama. This area becomes most attractive around early April and late November when the cherry blossoms bloom and the colors of the fall seasons usually peak. During the summer months, traditional cormorant fishing is practiced on the Hozu River for tourists to watch. One highly recommended spot is the Sagano Bamboo Forest. It is a pleasantly cool 100 meter long walkway that begins from the side of the world heritage Tenryuji Temple. Later, you will have lunch at Yoshiya Restaurant (Halal Japanese Style lunch). After lunch you will ride the local tram 'Randen' from Arashiyama to Shijo-Omiya station. Randen has a 100 old year history and is the only tram in Kyoto. Afterward, you will tour the Nara Park and the Todaiji Temple. Within Nara Park you will find the Todai-ji Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The main gate to Todai-ji Temple, the Todai-ji Nandaimon Gate, is a national treasure. The great statue of Buddha within the temple is the biggest in Japan. Nara Park is notorious for the 1200 or so wild deer that live freely within the park. You can feed the deer 'senbei' snacks which are sold within the park for 150 yen a stack. After a long day visiting many UNESCO sites, you will be dropped off at JR Namba OCAT station at approximately 5:40 pm. *Kansai Airport Departure Available*
