Ōhashi House

Top choice in Western Honshū

Built in 1793, this beautifully restored wooden house belonged to one of Kurashiki's richest families. It was built at a time when prosperous merchants were beginning to claim privileges that had previously been the preserve of the samurai.

It's between the station and the canal area.
