Located in the heart of the picturesque Higashi-chaya-gai, this 200-year-old geisha teahouse has only three rooms and features a goemonburo (cauldron-shaped bath). No English is spoken, there's no wi-fi and it's tucked away, but it's perfect if tranquillity, history and authenticity are what you're after.

Quick description via booking.com

Just 100 metres from the tea houses of the Higashi-Chayamachi district, Minshuku Ginmatsu features free Wi-Fi throughout and offers Japanese-style rooms with air conditioning, an LCD TV and shared bathrooms. A Japanese breakfast is available. Each room includes green tea and has a heated leg-warming table (kotatsu) for use in cold weather. Toilets are shared. Guests sleep in traditional futon bedding on a tatami (woven-straw) floor. A 10-minute bus ride from JR Kanazawa Train Station, the inn is a 20-minute walk from Kenroku-en Garden. Free parking is provided. Guests at Ginmatsu Minshuku receive a free ticket to a local Sento bath house, and luggage can be left at the front desk.
