Getting Around

Within the town area, shuttle buses (¥200, seven minutes, every 15 minutes) connect the Ōmori stop (next to the tourist information office) and the Iwami Ginzan World Heritage Centre.

While these buses connect the eastern length of the town, access to the mining area (along the western length) is only on foot or by bike. From the Ōmori bus stop, it's a picturesque 30- to 45-minute walk to the Ryūgenji Mabu Shaft.

Bike rental is available (¥500 for three hours, ¥700 for an electric-assist bike for two hours). Ask at the tourist information office.
