The Fushimi region, being famous for its quality water, is selected for 3 major sake brewery spots and has been brewing sake since ancient times. We would like you to enjoy the scenery of Fushimi and brewery and learn about sake and appreciate the aroma, flavor and depth of different kinds of sake. We will take a stroll around Fushimi district, Kyoto's major sake brewery district, and head for a Kyoto Sake Museum. After learning about the history of the end of Edo period and Kappa (the mythological creature) we will go to a hidden sake bar to enjoy more sake tasting. Finally, we will stroll to a Kyoto's shrine and get refreshed by drinking exquisite Japanese groundwater!With this tour, you will find the perfect sake for you and your sake-life will be much more enjoyable!

ItineraryThis is a typical itinerary for this productHere, you learn the history of Gekkeikan and the brewery process of sake by observing sake exhibits. 3 kinds of sake tasting is offered here.Duration: 30 minutesLocation: Gekkeikan Okura Sake Museum, Kyoto, Kyoto Prefecture, Kinki“Teradaya” in Fushimi Ward, Kyoto City, is an inn for ship passengers that continues from the Edo period. This place is also known as the place where Ryoma SAKAMOTO (Japanese prominent figure in the movement to overthrow the Tokugawa shogunate) became the stage of the “Sakamoto Ryoma attack” incidents by officials of the Fushimi magistrate office. Existing buildings were rebuilt in the Meiji era, and Teradaya which Sakamoto Ryoma did actually stayed is not left.
