Get the chance to customize your Japan travel experience with this one way bus tour from Osaka to Takayama.
You will be picked up at either Hearton Hotel Nishi-Umeda (7:30 am) or Namba OCAT (8:00am).  Your first stop for the day is Lake Biwa (Biwako), the largest fresh water lake in Japan, which you will be able to view in all its greatness from the observation deck. After a brief stop at the expressway rest area, where you can also purchase, or only have a look at, traditional Seki Knives, head for Gujo-Hachiman. Also called the Water City, Gujo Hachiman is famous throughout Japan for its pristine rivers, water springs, and for maintaining traditional ecological practices that have kept the water running through the town exceptionally clean for centuries. Enjoy a relaxing lunch in a local restaurant, where you will also be able to witness and experience how Japanese food samples (food replicas) are made (12:20-1:40 pm) .  From here, head to Shirakawa Village, or Shirakawago (3:10-4:30 pm). Explore and allow yourself to be fascinated by this World Heritage site with Gassho style houses said to have stood for over 300 years. The village was once considered a wild and unexplored region, with a natural environment that limited the interaction with neighboring areas. This made for unique cultural practices and lifestyle, all which can still be experienced today. The last stop of the day is Takayama (ETA 5:20 pm), your final destination.
