Parade Ground

Jamaica

At the top of the village, the large field is the Parade Ground where Maroons used to get ready for war and also where they'd be disciplined for various infractions by the Maroon elders with a cat o' nine tails until the 1950s, when corporal punishment was replaced by community service. Next to the field is the library where you may see a collection of goombay ceremonial drums.
