Welcome to Little Bay & Around
Just 14km southeast of Negril, a narrow side road loops down to Homers Cove (locals call it ‘Brighton Beach’) and, immediately east, Little Bay, with deserted beaches and peaceful bathing. Little Bay is imbued with the kind of laid-back feel that pervaded Negril before the onset of commercialization. It’s a great place to commune with Rastas and other Jamaicans who live a quiet life in ramshackle homes, dependent on fishing and their entrepreneurial wits. Little Bay is where Bob Marley once lived with one of his girlfriends, and locals can point out his former house. The main attraction around here is the Blue Hole, a sinkhole popular with jumping daredevils, and the clutch of leisure facilities that have sprung up around it, including a sound system that lures a local crowd from miles around.
