This erstwhile banana town has one street that's quick to breeze through, but which springs to life for the Saturday market. The paltry remains of Fort George, and some gingerbread colonial-era structures with columned walkways, stand on Main St. The most intriguing is the venerable yellow-and-red brick Baptist chapel, built in ‘village baroque’ style in 1894, with cut-glass windows and curious biblical exhortations engraved at cornice height.
