Travel away from Negril to the Hampden Estate Rum Factory on this 6 hour day trip. Walk the picturesque grounds with your local guide and have a tour of this historical working Distillery (over 260 years of rum making). Sample two of the award winning rums, sugar cane juice or coconut water and sample the Hampden rum cake before enjoying an included jerk chicken lunch. After lunch, tour the city of Montego Bay allows you to see the important historic areas of the second city in Jamaica as well as shopping opportunities along the way, or a swim at Margaritavilles.
Journey along the northern coastline for Jamaica to reach the parish of of Trelawny, This tour welcomes you with a Rum Punch, and a brief history of the Estate and owners. Walk the picturesque grounds whilst having a tour of this historical working Distillery (over 260 years of rum making) and hear how the rum is produced. You'll have the opportunity to sample two of the award winning rums, sugar cane juice or coconut water and sample the Hampden Estate rum cake. Lunch is included in this 4 hour tour, which consists of jerk chicken or port with festivals and water included. On property is a small shop where you can purchase the rums at factory prices. After passing various residential and resort areas on your way for a 2 hour visit to Montego Bay, stops are made at the Hip Strip stopping at Fort Montego and a craft market (maybe take a dip at Margaritavilles with the 'water toys". Pass by and take photos at Sam Sharpe Square, where one of Jamaica’s national heroes was hanged for his rebellious activities. There are some statues here and a dungeon where slaves were locked up. Across from the square you will also visit the Civic Centre museum where you find relics from the past from Tanio Indians to the British. The old St James Parish Church is the next stop for a brief walk where you will be given the history of the many outstanding citizens buried here. On leaving the church the last photo stops are at the Dome and an unusual brick building that has been here for over 150 years and was the source of spring water that sufficed Montego Bay at this time. Pick up (8am) is from your hotel lobby, where you are dropped off (4pm) at the end of the day.Transfer time is approx hr 30 mins each way
