Getting There & Away
The easiest access to western Sardinia is by car or motorcycle. The main north–south thoroughfares are the SS131, which connects Oristano with Cagliari to the south and inland destinations to the north, and the SS292, which parallels the coast between Oristano and Bosa. Buses operated by ARST (www.arst.sardegna.it) connect most towns throughout the region.
Oristano is also a stop on Sardinia's main Cagliari to Sassari railway line, but additional rail connections within the region are limited.
The most convenient airports are Cagliari's Elmas for Oristano and points south, and Alghero's Fertilia airport for Bosa and points north.
