Located near the Fondamente Nuove, this pensione isn’t easy to find – but that’s part of its charm, and so are the intrepid fellow travellers you’ll meet over breakfast on a shared balcony. All six rooms are simple but tidy, bright and airy, and rates rarely hit the quoted maximums. Giorgio and Fausto also maintain a great blog (see website for details), which is worth browsing before travelling.
Rooms are simply furnished and located on the first floor of a building from the 1940s with no lift. Each one is air conditioned, and features a TV and private bathroom.
Some rooms have satellite TV channels and free Wi-Fi, which is also available in public areas. A sweet Italian breakfast is served each morning. It includes jam, bread, mini packaged cakes and hot drinks.
Located in the Castello district, Barbaria Alloggi is near the Ospedale water-bus stop, with links to the train station, the bus terminus, and the airport.
