Feeling burnt out by our fast-paced, always-on hyper-connected world? Time to unplug and get back to the land. And there’s no better place to do that than Umbria, the green heartland of Italy, tucked away just south of Tuscany. On this eight-day slice of rural life, you’ll hang out on the grounds of a converted farmhouse, soaking in the pleasures of a simpler time like helping out around the farm, feeding the livestock, and making pasta. But don’t worry; you’re not just living on the farm – you can hike into the hills, go for a swim, explore the nearby towns of Gubbio and Assisi, or do absolutely nothing at all. Work: optional. Fun: mandatory.

Itinerary

Day 1 Rome Arrive at any time. Included Activities: Arrival Day and Welcome Meeting
Day 2 Rome/Umbertide (1B, 1L, 1D) Travel by private van to the converted farmhouse, located in scenic Umbria. Travel the rolling hills to reach the working sustainable farm and settle in. Included Activities: Property Orientation Transport: Private Vehicle (2.50 hour(s), 200km)
Day 3 Umbertide (1B, 1L, 1D) Each morning, check the board for the list of activities available. From feeding the animals to picking fruits and veggies from the farm to assisting with the pasta-making, there's never a dull moment. Opt to take part in the yoga or pilates class, or settle in with a good book by the pool. During the week, our hosts can help organize group activities like hikes to a lake for swimming or to the top of the mountain nearby for a bit of a work out.
Day 4 Umbertide (1B, 1D) Head out to nearby Assisi to visit the Basilica of St Francis and its famous frescos. Enjoy exploring the town and searching out a local place for lunch before travelling back to the farmhouse for another evening in paradise. Day 5 Umbertide (1B, 1L, 1D) Spend a day exploring on the farm and helping out as desired. Opt to stretch your legs on a hike or read by the pool.
Day 6 Umbertide (1B, 1L, 1D) Head out to the nearby medieval town of Gubbio for a day trip. Venture off into this tiny town on your own and opt to visit some of the sights like the Roman theatre, and Duomo. Transport: Private Vehicle (0.50-0.75 hours, 30km) Private Vehicle (0.50-0.75 hours, 30km)
Day 7 Umbertide (1B, 1L, 1D) Enjoy your final day on the farm, before indulging in a final dinner prepared with fresh ingredients prepared by the farmhouse’s cook, Daniela. We don’t want to spill all the secrets, but be sure to bring your appetite.
Day 8 Umbertide/Rome (1B) We highly recommend booking post-tour accommodation to fully experience this vibrant city. Included Activities: Narni Town Visit Departure Day Transport: Private Vehicle (2.50 hour(s), 200km)
